Learning Foundations Program

​12-hour program designed for young learners who have not yet experienced the emotional struggles with “falling behind” but are at risk of gauged by their performance, test scores and other characteristics. This program is designed for students aged 5-8 to build the foundations necessary to be successful in school. 

The Learning Foundations Program IS designed to provide support for the students as they gain academic skills by training support persons in the tools and use of clay. Through consistent use of the personal tools, students will be able to work within the general education classroom with more success. 


Flexible Scheduling

This program is best provided on 3 – 4 consecutive days but may be broken into several smaller sessions if suited to the student. This program requires the commitment of support persons to provide follow-through with clay after the program. ​

Personalized Tools:

During the program the student will learn to demonstrate the following personal tools to aid in FOCUS: 
Release – a tool that helps to let go of anxiety and emotions that lead to    confusion. 
Regulate – a tool to help control energy. 
Maintain – a tool to help the student establish attention, correct perceptions, combat daydreaming. 
Balance – a tool to improve eye-hand coordination, handwriting, and visual tracking. 
Clay for Success – a three-dimensional process using clay that allows the student to make a connection between spelling and meaning, which reduces or eliminates confusion and increases comprehension. ​​

The Learning Foundations Program is NOT designed to teach phonetic reading skills. If students have not yet been exposed or experienced in phonetic sounds and rules, they may require additional instruction through remedial programs in school or from outside tutoring. But with the use of the tools taught in the program, students will be ready to learn with the rest of their class. ​

[In November 2021, my son completed a Learning Foundation Program with Kelley] and since, he has been working super hard!  This boy is over the moon getting a 90% on his latest spelling test & 97% on his latest math test!!! Last year if we got 50% it went on the fridge. I am so proud of him! I honestly started to cry when his teacher told me his scores.
