The parent/guardian/student acknowledges and agrees to the following:
Tutoring services will be provided as outlined in a predetermined learning plan which has been reviewed and agreed to.
Tutoring services will be provided by a trained tutor employed by The Tutoring Center.
Tutoring services will be provided in a 1:1 setting at the Tutoring Center facility or Weiser Library.
Fees:
Tutoring sessions will be pre-arranged and scheduled in advance.
Fees for tutoring will be paid in advance of any tutoring session.
Cancellations:
Tutoring sessions may be rescheduled by the parent/guardian/adult student with at least 24-hour prior notice.
One cancellation without penalty per 3-month period.
No shows will be automatically charged for a 1-hour tutoring session.
Excessive cancellations and/or no show on two or more occasions may result in the termination of tutoring.
Late arrival:
Tutoring sessions times will be set with advance agreement between the tutor/parent/student. Because one tutor may be tutoring several students in sequence, student tardiness will result in a shortened tutoring time and will be charged for the full session.
Drop off / Pick up:
Tutoring sessions will often be booked back-to-back and there is no provision for supervision of students outside of tutoring time. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to session and pick up student promptly at the end of the session.
Students must be accompanied into the building by an adult and be signed in and signed out. If someone other than parent/guardian will be dropping off or picking up a student, the parent must provide notice of such.
Obligations of Tutor:
The tutor agrees to structure the sessions in such a way as to optimize time to the benefit of the student.
The tutor shall keep confidential all information of the student and shall obtain written permission from the student/parent prior to any discussion with other parties involved in the student’s education
The tutor shall at no time be required or obliged to execute homework or assignments on behalf of the student.
Obligations of Student:
The student recognizes and acknowledges that he is an active participant in the tutoring process. The student is open to new ideas and suggestions provided by the tutor to improve the student’s learning experience.
The student will arrive prepared for learning which will include having had a prior snack and bathroom break. Any breaks are disruptive to the productivity of the session and are included in the session time.
The student agrees that assignments, exercises, or homework form an integral part of tutoring and undertakes to complete such, in a timely manner.
The student will always maintain appropriate behavior and language while participating in tutoring sessions. The tutor will report negative behavior to the center director, who will in turn report negative behavior to the parents. Repeated incidents of negative behavior may result in the dismissal of the student from tutoring.
Obligations of Parent/Guardian:
Review student academic progress and school reports on a regular basis to be an informed and active participant of your student’s learning experience.
Make prompt payment of all tutoring invoices.
Siblings:
There is limited space for waiting during tutoring and therefore, siblings may not accompany/wait during tutoring sessions. If parents plan to stay during tutoring sessions, please make appropriate arrangements for other children.
No Warranties
The tutor and tutoring center make no promises or warranties with regards to the student’s performance as to the result of the tutoring provided.
